The area hosts festivals all year long. The Hendaye festival and the Pastorale en Soule are especially worth a visit.
There are also plenty of traditional sporting events, like the 10 traditional tests of strength (tug-of-war, wagon lifting, stone lifting, log sawing…) as well as “pelota” court sports (chistera, bare hand, pala, yoko garbi, and so on).
