How to get to the village square from the campsite<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the advantages of our campsite is its proximity to the village center. A few minutes’ walk along an old medieval road<\/strong> takes you to the village square, lined with local shops<\/strong> (bakery, grocery store, tobacconist, butcher’s, salad bar, etc.). This safe pedestrian access lets you experience the local atmosphere to the full without taking your car<\/strong>. This direct link between the campsite and the village lets you enjoy theauthenticity of the Basque Country<\/strong>, while remaining in a peaceful natural setting<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Sare is full of treasures to visit<\/strong>. Whether on foot or by cogwheel train, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the <\/strong>Basque coast and its fine sandy beaches<\/a> (from San Sebastian on the Spanish side to Capbreton on the Landes side), and of the French and Spanish Pyrenees. You’ll also be able to see our local horse, the ” pottok” <\/g>, as well as griffon vultures<\/g>.Not to be missed are the prehistoric caves<\/g>, highlighted by a fascinating sound and light show<\/g>. Thechurch of Saint-Martin<\/g>, with its remarkable architecture, is another place steeped in history<\/g>. The Ortillopitz Basque house<\/a>, dating from the XVII\u1d49 century, will immerse you in the local culture<\/strong>. For families, the <\/strong>Etxola wildlife park <\/a>is a popular outing for children. The village is also home to the Mus\u00e9e du g\u00e2teau basque<\/a>, a delicious gourmet stopover.
